The people of Earth continue to bombard the masses with celebrity endorsements. The marketing tactics run from trinkets to political offices. We are unsure why such endorsements are used to curry favor with their fellow man. The people are polarized, as are the celebrities used to endorse them.

Vote for X candidate — Take 1

Where is the validity?

My favorite actor stumping for a political candidate should not make any candidate any more or less appealing to me. If you made these decisions based upon your favorite celebrity, you’re not thinking clearly.

Sure, I like to see Clint Eastwood telling somebody to make his day, as it reminds me of the brilliant line in one of his feature films. Those days have passed.

I love watching Robert Dinero being the tough guy in a film. I love seeing him portray a regular shmo like me. Whether he voices his accolades or vows to destroy a candidate has no merit.

We watch actors and actresses for the ability to act and portray people they are not. We should care less about their personal political, sexual, or religious leanings. I am put-off by an artist’s rants against a candidate, whom I may support. Supporting a candidate without making crude comments or vile overtures against their opponent should be the norm. That often isn’t the case.

Life is not an act

Whether we like it or not, we are not the cast in a great production. This is life. Real people feel the impact of decisions made.

I do not like actors and singers telling me what I should or shouldn’t do. I have a mind to form my own opinions and frankly care less about their opinions. Should I travel in their circles and be in the same social and economic class, I may feel inclined to hear what they say as we’d be in the same boat.

As it is, I’m making substantially less than a few million dollars without an agent. I can’t afford to live in Bel Air or Beverly Hills. I do not pay the taxes imposed by California or New York and buy my groceries at the local Walmart or grocery store.

I am a worker bee in a large hive. We depend on one another, and if we have extra money left over at the end of the month… we may go see a movie that will make us feel good. We do not want to see an actor we like on the big screen chastising us for our political views.

Judgemental TV personalities are just as bad. I’d surmize the ratings of major network shows reflect my opinions… but I could be wrong. They are, after all, just my opinions.

I’m not trying to jam them down your throat, or even spoon feed my way of life to you. I’m just saying this is what I think. You can be your own judge.

Thanks for reading my rant.
