FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! — the mantra goes on and on. Is journalism dead? Did Donald J. Trump, and his administration kill it? I don’t think so. Neither has POTUS destroyed journalism, nor is it dead. If it were possible, I’d put journalism on the endangered species list. It is becoming a rare breed.

Who says journalism is dead or dying?

I say it. Others, too, have most likely said it, or belief journalism is on its last legs unless a new generation picks up the torch and carries it.

Why am I so cynical about the status of journalism?

If anyone has picked up a newspaper and read both the headlines and content, they could see my point. You could also review the major news networks, listening to the top stories. Our media in the United States became biased in an outward fashion recently. In the past, both journalists and networks reported the news without a noticeable slant.

Journalists have lost their way and became commentators, using the elements of truth as they fit their storyline. They no longer balance the questions to obtain the correct answers to the questions we are all asking ourselves.
